Hungry Eye Records is dedicated to the notion that commercially released media can serve the following two functions; to document a set of events or circumstances, or to express perspectives or ideas much in the same way as a manifesto. Hungry Eye has these two functions in mind when releasing music.
Hungry Eye Records rejects the reification of the past, but recognizes that music is a dynamic narrative that interpolates interpretations of the past, present, and future. Hungry Eye's concern is not to document a specific style of music, and present it as a static representation of a place and time. Rather, it is to support progressive currents in music made under noteworthy circumstances.
Hungry Eye Records does not cater to a specific geographic region. Hungry Eye believes that there are ways that a band's music can be of commensurate importance as their music. Therefore, in addition to helping "break" bands to a wider audience, Hungry Eye expends effort on exposing the music of different movements, scenes, and regions in hopes of contributing to a musical cosmopolitanism.
In these ways, Hungry Eye Records aspires to contribute to and influence the musical culture of today.

Answers:
1. How can I contact Hungry Eye Records?
Refer to our "contact" page on this site, which, incidentally,
is this page. The generic email
info@hungryeyerecords.com
should suit all of your requests.
2. How did Hungry Eye Records come
about?
See the "information/ about" page on this site.
3. Where do I find Hungry Eye releases?
Hungry Eye releases are available in stores throughout the United States
and the rest of the world. Stores, in turn, order them from our distributors.
For a list of our distributors, please refer to our "distribution" page. If your local store does not stock Hungry Eye releases, please ask
them to, or
email us the
store's contact info and we will take care of it.
4. Are there any limited editions
or Hungry Eye releases?
Sometimes. Everything that is available through Hungry Eye will be listed
on the web site. If it says we have a limited pressing available of some
release, we do. If not, we don't. If you don't see it on the site, don't
ask.
5. Does Hungry Eye accept unsolicited
demo material for consideration for future releases?
Yes, we do. Go ahead and send your demo material. However, be aware that
will not have the opportunity to discuss with you that we received it.
Our release schedule is also very tight, so it is highly unlikely that
we will release your band on the basis of hearing a demo alone. The odds
are not in your favor, should you decide to do this, but you're welcome
to give it a try. Send all material to the address listed on the contact
page.
6. Do you have a print catalog of
available releases and merchandise?
No we don't. For the time being, it is unlikely that we will have one
any time soon. The web site, and any of our ads you might see serve as
our catalog.
7. Do you have a minimum order if
I order direct from Hungry Eye?
No. All items are postage paid, so you can order just one item if you
wish.
8. Are prices listed on the web site
postage paid?
Yes, they are. Note that postage paid means that the price of shipping
is included in the listed price for each release.
9. How long will it take to get my
order?
If you order from one of our distributors, refer to their shipping policy
to see how long it takes them to fill orders. If you order directly from
us, we ship out within a week of receiving payment.
10. How safe is ordering directly
through the mail?
There have never been any problems with shipping through the mail. If
you are worried about receiving your order through the mail, try one of
our distributors, or ask one of your stores.
11. How can I contact a band on
the Hungry Eye roster?
Refer to the individual band pages by clicking on the cover of a release
on the "releases" page on this site. If the band has a web site
of their own, there will likely be an email or a postal mail address on
that site. If you can't find it, feel free to send your inquiries to us
and we will forward them to the band in question.
12. Who handles promotions for Hungry
Eye Records?
Currently, we handle all promotions in house. All questions of this nature
should be addressed to us. At some point in time, this may change, but
until further notice, we handle everything here.
13. Would you be willing to advertise
in my print / online publication, or send in any promotional items for
review?
Maybe. Before we send anything your way, we would like to see the web
site, or a hard copy of your magazine. If you have an online magazine,
be sure to let us know your ad specs, rates, and deadlines, as well as
the number of hits your web site gets and how long you've been online.
If you have a print magazine, be sure to let us know your ad rates, deadlines,
and specs, as well as your circulation, your demographic (if available),
where you are primarily circulated, and how long your magazine has been
publishing. A contact (whether it be an editor or staff writer) would
be very helpful. We will contact you if we are interested.
14. I'm a radio/ club DJ. Can I
obtain promotional copies of Hungry Eye Records to play on my show or
in my set?
Maybe. If you are a radio DJ, send us a request on the official letterhead
of the station you work for. We will need to see playlists before we send
you anything. Likewise, we will also need extensive playlists documenting
when you play our release. If you are a club DJ, let us know what club
you spin at, and send any promotional flyers documenting your night. Likewise,
we will need playlists both before and after we send you anything.
15. Who or what is MATW Records?
MATW Records (www.matwrecords.com) is the sister label of Hungry Eye Records.
16. Electroclash: yes or no?
No.
